Menlo Park is situated between Palo Alto, Atherton and Stanford and spans out to the San Francisco Bay. The city is about 17 square miles and has a population of about 35,000 residents. There are 4 elementary schools that serve Menlo Park, two of which are located within the boundaries of Atherton. There are two middle schools that serve the city and Menlo-Atherton High School is the high school for this community. It is home to Facebook Headquarters, Stanford Linear Accelerator (SLAC) as well as having some of the leading Venture Capital firms along Sand Hill Road. Menlo Park’s downtown area is a mix of restaurants, bakeries and varied retail shops. The Allied Arts Guild is nestled in the southern part of Menlo Park close to Stanford Shopping Center. The Guild has been a local gem since 1929 where artists can come together to create and sell their pieces to the public. It’s a pleasure to meander through the lovely gardens, shops housed within the beautiful Spanish style buildings and end with a treat at the cafe.
