Redwood city’s claim to fame is “Climate Best by Government Test” and that is a pretty awesome claim! The US government did a search over the entire globe for what was the best climate and deemed that Redwood City was the winner. It is one of the larger cities on the peninsula at over 88,000 residents and almost 35 square miles spanning from out to the bay up to the hills at highway 280. There are 7 K-5 schools, 7 K-8 schools, 2 middle schools and it is served by both Sequoia and Woodside high schools. The city also serves as the county seat for San Mateo county. The courthouse square in the downtown area provides a beautiful gathering spot that hosts concerts in the Summer and various events throughout the year. Downtown Redwood City is a vibrant area with many fantastic eateries, bars, and various other shops, including a large movie theater.
